End User License Agreement — Am I Legal?

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Am I Legal? (the "App"), you agree to this End User License Agreement ("EULA"). If you do not agree, do not download, install, or use the App.

2. License grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to install and use the App on a device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You may use the App only as permitted by this EULA and any applicable App Store or Google Play terms.

3. Restrictions

You agree that you will not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive source code from the App, except to the extent applicable law prohibits this restriction.
• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App.
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App.
• Use the App to violate any law or to harm any person.
• Use the App as a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney.
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices on the App.

4. The App is a reference tool, not legal advice

The App provides general legal-reference information about US state laws. It is not legal advice. It does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and us. Laws change frequently and can be interpreted differently in different circumstances. Before relying on any information shown in the App, you should:

• Confirm the law against the primary source statute (each entry in the App cites the statute and links to it),
• Consider that the information may be out of date,
• And, where the stakes are meaningful, consult a licensed attorney in the relevant jurisdiction.

The App displays a verification date for each release. Information last verified on the displayed date may have changed since then.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

We do not warrant that the information in the App is accurate, current, or complete. We do not warrant that any specific outcome will result from using the App. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in this EULA.

6. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARREST, PROSECUTION, CONVICTION, FINE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL CONSEQUENCE ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THIS EULA OR THE APP, FROM ALL CAUSES OF ACTION AND ALL THEORIES OF LIABILITY, WILL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US TO DOWNLOAD THE APP. IF THE APP WAS FREE, OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO US$0.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your access to or use of the App;
• Your violation of this EULA or any applicable law; or
• Any consequence (criminal, civil, administrative, or otherwise) of an action you took based on information shown in the App.

8. Term and termination

This EULA is effective until terminated. We may terminate this EULA at any time if you breach any term. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete it from your devices. Sections 4 through 11 survive termination.

9. Governing law and venue

This EULA is governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to this EULA or the App will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, United Kingdom, or any other jurisdiction whose law gives you a non-waivable right to bring suit in your home courts, this section does not override that right.

10. Apple App Store terms (iOS users only)

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:

• This EULA is between you and us only, not with Apple. We are solely responsible for the App and its content.
• The license granted in Section 2 is limited to the App used on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Terms.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
• In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any user or third-party claims relating to the App or your possession or use of it.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any third-party intellectual property claim related to the App.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA, and upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this EULA against you as a third-party beneficiary.

11. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement. This EULA, together with our Privacy Policy, is the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
• Severability. If any provision of this EULA is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
• No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
• Assignment. You may not assign this EULA. We may assign it to a successor by merger, acquisition, or operation of law.
• Changes. We may update this EULA from time to time. The updated EULA will be made available in or with the App and on our website (if any). Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the updated EULA.
