Frequently Asked

Is this a government app?

No. Am I Legal? is an independent reference app built by Grow Shop Network LLC. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing any federal, state, or local government agency.

Is this legal advice?

No. This app is for general reference only. Always verify with the cited statute or consult a licensed attorney before relying on anything for an important decision.

What does it cost?

Three options: Android app — $1.99 one-time on Google Play. Web app at app.amilegal.net — $9.99/year or $24.99 lifetime. College or organization licenses — email support@amilegal.net for bulk / seat-based pricing. No ads on any tier.

What's the difference between the Android app and the web version?

Same data, different delivery. Android is a one-time $1.99 purchase, works fully offline. Web ($9.99/yr or $24.99 lifetime) works on any device — phone, laptop, tablet — buy once, sign in anywhere. Sign in with Google and your license unlocks automatically. Colleges typically go with the web version for group access.

Do I need to enter my license key every time?

No. On the web version, sign in with Google (or Microsoft, coming soon). If your email matches your Gumroad purchase or your college's licensed domain, you're unlocked automatically — no key needed.

How often is the data updated?

The app is verified and updated regularly as laws change. Each update is noted in the app footer with the verification month. Major law changes (like Oklahoma's 2025 consent age update) are rolled into the next release.

When is the iOS version coming?

The web version at app.amilegal.net works on iOS today — you can even "Add to Home Screen" from Safari to make it feel like a native app. A dedicated iOS App Store release is planned after Android sales stabilize.
